Can u please explain how do you converted fluid volume to surface ? In flip fluid actually im not finding this option in my version
Just enable remove mesh near boundary in the surface settings of the domain.
Nice to meet you! I'm not sure why the Rigid Body doesn't work. I set it to Active and entered the gravity correctly, but it ends with the keyframe animation and then freezes. I can't go to the next step, please help me.
I solved it by entering a key in the RigidBody animation box, but is this the same method as in the video?
Depends on the scene - but maybe yes! You can always send a blend file to let us check it .
i wana know how you did the first shot
Using force fileds! There is a complete guide video on the FLIP Fluids playlist
Pls, I need the video tutorial for the surface tension in step-by-step design. Thanks
Surface tension just need to be enabled - and you need to find out the right strength for your scene. It’s mostly like trial and error
Tutorial please
WIP 🚧😉
hi, 7:53 - where to find the "speed" option? it is not there (search does not find anything in physics), thank you
You need the domainbox to be selected if you are going to change fluid simulation speed. For rigid bodies it’s another panel.
hi can you share 3d print addons with me ?, 13:34 i searched rosa but i couldn't find this addons. Without these addons, my work is not the same
Hi - the 3d Print Addon is part of the official Blender. No need to download. You just need to enable this in the preferences - its still there !
I couldn’t get it to work on my shape - the particles and mesh go crazy and don’t define my shape at all. This is a honeycomb grid with some thickness. I wish people would explain how the settings can apply to different shapes and models and what factors might need to be changed.
Did you watch the force field complete guide video on the flip fluid channel? And did you try to use the debugging tools that can help you? You could also send your blend file per support form of the FF Homepage to request support.
@@Blenderphysics-Videos I tried a million and one settings…..it really needs FF to think of all the issues people can go through, script a proper video going through all these pitfalls and why the animations are not working and then let them get on with it. I’ve been trying for an hour just to get basic fluid movement on my model in FF which isn’t working. There are a huge number of variables that determine the outcome of how the simulation works and whether you can know what the software is doing with the settings in question and to see the simulation. I would also break it down and not try and make the tutorials too complex - simple thing being sought out in achieving but going through all the pitfalls. It’s bound to make them sell more of the software.
@@Blenderphysics-Videos also you can’t know to buy the FF software to get rid of the watermark if you cant know if the software will do what you want. If it does I’d buy it in a heartbeat to get rid of the watermark.
please make MOAR TUTORIALS!!!!!!!!
Amazing tutorial!
Could you please provide tutorial for this ?
A compositing tutorial will be released next month. FLIP Fluids will release the new compositing tools and a tutorial comes with this.
hello. this looks amzing, please i have a question. how do i manage to create a mask like that on the ff sim so that i can comp it seamlessly with real footage? thank you
Use a gradient texture to fade the surface shader out. There will be some prepared assets for this soon ☺️
do you need the full version to get this final result or is ok with also the github compiled addon? I heard from someone that materials are not included with the github version
That’s correct - the example files are part of the payed Addon. However you will also ne able to get this results with a self compiled version. It’s just a bit less comfortable but it works
Thanks
what passes have you rendered? how did you achieve the reflection? can you only render foam and bubbles and etc. only seperately? not the whole fluid?
We are working on a passes system the does all this automatically. The reflections are on the simulated fluid surface what fades out into the footage.
@@Blenderphysics-Videos I am using blender too but I haven't had enough imagination like what kind of passes have you have used or.. please do a tutorial!
name of 3 pass please?
Fluid, foam and objects. There will be compositing tools in the future 👍
Woooow
I cannot believe this modifier is no longer in blender. Such a waste...
So true 😭
This is a lot of fun. My sphere has a diamond pattern repeated over the surface. Is there a setting to smooth that out. If I use the smooth modifier at higher levels it degrades the appearance of effect.
Try shade smooth (Blender F3 and type in)
Hi, I was wondering if I could batch copy Flip Fluid's physical properties on an object if I had a lot of pieces that I wanted to set up as obstacles
Tutorial pls
Anyway to hold the text in place for a few seconds before it falls?
Sure , you can use the Simulation Speed Value for this (by keyframing it)
i hear german is that right?
It is 👍
Very Nice! I just purchased Flip Fluids during the Blender Market Winter sale. I'm going to try this when I get a chance.
Can anyone tell me what is the name of these passes? TIA
Didn’t use passes but tryed different visibility settings and exported each as separate sequences
Good day to you, could I run Flip - Fluid on my PC please - How long do simulations take? I would like to create an ocean splitting, like Moses and the Red Sea? Is it possible - Thank you :) PC: Intel i9 20 Core - Asus ROG STRIX 1080Ti - 32 Gigs DDR4
It’s possible but maybe not in the quality you are looking for. 32GB will be good for some basic simulations. But we recommend 64GB or more for higher resolution simulations. A simulation like this can take days for baking and rendering. It depends on your requirements and the quality. Setting up a scene like this will not be easy, too. Try our our demo version and let us know if there are more questions.
this is INSANE !!! 👁️👃👁️🙏
How????
Can you please share a tutorial/instructions?
I am going to make a new tutorial soon … working on something
@@Blenderphysics-Videos Please make a tutorial for this!! It's amazing!
can u help me i have simulation but i want to the compositing like u have done in this video please help me i want to create my portfolio
You can use a texture to blend your surface material to a transparency node - that’s the trick ;).
Hello, I'm also interested in this, did you succeed? And how? Thank you
The animated option isn't working, the ridgit body does not complete the rest of the animation
Feel free to send your blend file using the flip fluids support form and will try to help
i have the same issue what whas the promlem did you solve?
@@spawniaq yes, just contact the support team... they are very helpfull
Tutorial on this would be great.
Softbodies and flip fluids? We can make it
what would you say the most accurate values for water are? I'm having trouble deciding
That absolutely depends on your scene. Understand this comparison as an overview to see what the features do.
Can I simulate liquid emiting from an animated character?
Yes! It’s required to enable „export animated mesh“ and then this will work.
Please make more flip fluids tutorials and keep going❤
Planned is a lot - but some development work is going on and we have to finish some things before the next tutorial will be made.
@@Blenderphysics-Videos Cant wait...
Hi Dennis! Thx for the helping video, but I couldn't even then go back to 2.79 hehe, for me there was never a going back after 2.8 :) I have since years ago a FM windows build for 2.80.45, which still works reasonably well, but there was not included the Helper addon for it, do you know where to get it? Another question, since this working version of FM exists, why haven't anyone over the years compiled any more recent FM for any versions of Blender after this 2.80.45?, at least I can't find one.... Seems just like big miss to not have such cool and useful addon in the new awesome Blender, but I guess with all things going Nodes, maybe FM never will be part of the future of Blender... Well well, thx for all the fun during the year with FM, much appreciated! Fracture on...
Hi! I remember that 2.8 build. It was compiled by somebody else but not by the team. And that is the reason why there was no helper addon. Maintenancing a custom build and an addon means a lot of work. Scorpion81 was the programmer on our team and had to do everything alone. As there are too many changes with every new blender version, after a while, maintenance got to heavy. There were many many requests for a fm2.x version. But unfortunately it is too much work for one person alone. And as war as I know scorpion has job and private things. He didn’t live from the fm project. The code still is available. Who knows if there will be someone in the future who will try to compile a new build. With ai tools this became a more realistic scenerio. Would love it as well ;).
This is Houdini level graphics.
Blender has become Houdini Lite!
Thank you!
Brilliant tutorial! I'm a Cinema 4D user, I don't use Blender at all but this was still helpful. This technique still translates because C4D (along with x-particles) has equivalent features that do the same things. Awesome.
Seems difficult to get something to either pop out of the water or a boat to Bob up and down without water running off of it. Thats what makes it natural looking. Everything basically seems water repellent
I think it will take some more time for more beautiful results. For a tutorial, to show possibilities, the results are still okay.
@@Blenderphysics-Videos yes, thats actually kinda sad...Blender keeps updating and adding on features but, some things are just stuck in the stone age. In order to get the better looking water simulations I think we could need to use collections and do some trick layering to get better looking results.
Interesting tutorial. As far as Flip fluids. This is only with the Flip Fluid add on? I know in the blender settings theres a flip setting you can check off.
Yes that’s correct. Only the FLIP Fluids Addon has this workflow and features. But both (the addon and mantaflow) are using the same mathematical principles.
thank you so so much!
You didn't mention the most important part. What is the simulation and bake time? and what CPU was used for simulation?
I don’t remember how long baking took. Using an i9 -12900
Fantastic video, thank you!
Hi, I followed the old tutorial, just to get back into new ( mixer fixed version) just last week. After a while on environments, now I can check if I did it right, great timing thanks.
I couldn't find the modifier Motion blur after enabling velocity and speed attributes.
you need a custom geometry nodes setup for motion blur that accesses velocity data. In the helper menu is a button that does this automatically for you! It is required to click it before baking .
can 3 inflow being froze on the diffrent time ? im trying to make a with diffrent layer. but it seems it keep mixing together. or is there any how to convert the fluid into mesh ?
Yes - you would need to export the simulation as alembic - and import it to be used as obstacle in the next simulation
@@Blenderphysics-Videos thank you so much 😁👍🏽
Why I make it very fat not similar with mash ? 😢😢
Maybe the resolution is too low?
Hey, im trying to make a scene with an iceberg. i make a small part of it separate from the big iceberg and slpashed into the water. im trying to follow the step 3 of the video but im doing invert cause i want the parts dive from above. however something is not working.. how can i make the parts just dive and interact with the fluid as the nature?. any advice?
That is not natively possible and needs to be made using tricks.
Wow. This is really cool. Can you take this data to Unreal Engine by any chance?
I will take a closer look to the unreal engine ;)
@@Blenderphysics-Videos I second this, if there was a way to export as a Json file it'd work amazing with Niagra particles since Houdini can export Vellum grain as Json, any chance you could check and see if Unreal Engine will take the grains as an Alembic if imported into Unreal Engine?
Silly question - but how did you keyframe the enable checkbox for FLIP fluid force field?
Put your mouse over the checkbox and click I
